M&S Lyrics 1: Love As It Was Made To Be

If you missed my first post in the series, here is the link: Mumford & Sons Lyrics

Love; it will not betray you
Dismay or enslave you, it will set you free
Be more like the man you were made to be

There is a design, an alignment to cry
Of my heart to see,
The beauty of love as it was made to be

-From Sigh No More

This is my first post in the Mumford & Sons lyrical series leading up to the release of Babel Tuesday September 25th. These lyrics are from their first song on their first album, and are some of my favorite from the album.

Love. What a way to start an album. This song calls for what love is truly meant to be. Loyal, encouraging, freeing. Not betraying, dismaying, or enslaving.

God has made all of us to be someone, are we living everyday to be the person we were made to be?

God made EVERYONE to see the beauty of love as He made it. There is a design, a cry of our hearts to see it! It’s beautiful, are you seeing the fake love society is selling us or “The beauty of love as it was made to be”?

There is a design in all of our hearts.

  1. It’s so easy to sing about “free love” in music. It’s a theme one hears a lot. I love how they manage to capture a love that has a design, a purpose. It brings “love songs” to a new level of beauty. Good thoughts, Mark!
